It was show by Habib Tanvir which I witnessed in Delhi in nineties. Then after some years it was staged in Chandigarh by Zulfikar Khan, indeed it was an impressive show. The script is a master piece by Asgar Wajahat. I have been directing stage plays since 1980. While doing theatre in Chandigarh and Amritsar it was never a problem to have actors. If there was any problem it related to female actors only.
I stage two Punjabi plays at Mumbai in 2003 one Rishtian Da kee Rakhiye Naa by Atamjit ( Based on Manto's story Toba Tek Singh) and other Rai Da Pahar by Balwant Gargi. We staged many shows in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
In May,2010 I decided to stage Jis Lahore Nahin Dekhya Oh jammaya hee nahin. after pursuation
the writer was kind enough to accord permission but not without certain riders . A few actors dedicated themselves for the show. After e month of rehearsals many of them walked out due to their personal problems. After many change overs ew decided to opt for a play with lesser actors and now with 9 actors (two females), the rehearsals are on for Pali Bhupinder Singh's Kush to karo yaaro. It is Hindi version of the original Punjabi play.
We have decided to stage the play in some schools and colleges near 15th. August, 2010. Let us see what happens.
